Blogging on the Go

Blogging on the go is now really simple. Here are a few ways that you can create content while away from home. Before you go on your trip take a few tools that you can use to help your blogging efforts. Make sure to bring a pencil, pen and notepad. Also include a laptop, digital camera, and video camcorder.

You can always start with the trusty pencil / pen and paper. Take advantage of the slow times during travel. Are the flights always on time? Do you have a large gap in between flights? Well this is the time that you can use for blogging.

When you are sitting in the airport waiting to get to your next flight you can sit back in your chair and take out your pen and pad and start jotting down information on topics that you want to cover. Write potential headlines. Brainstorm new ideas. Even if you are not writing your actual posts you can be doing some productive work.

While the pen and pad are the basics that you can use now we have all kinds of tech tools to help get things done. Laptops are inexpensive and some of the are really small and portable. Laptops don’t take up a lot of space and you can focus and type your information quickly. Most airports have Wi-Fi internet access which can be a big help while waiting for a flight. Even if you don’t have internet access you can still turn on your computer and write while on the plane. So while everybody else is napping you can turn on your computer and get a few ideas in.

If you have a digital camera then you can take random photos while you are away. If you see something that might add to a future blog post take a few pictures. Some of the pictures might lead you to a new topic to focus on.

Jot down some notes on what you enjoyed about the trip and what you didn’t like. Were the flights too crowded? Was the flight attendant cheerful or mean? How was the weather? These are all some topics that could turn into blog posts when you get back. The main thing is to get the quick information stored so when you get back you can review and go into more detail. You don’t want to forget the important stuff.

Take a few tools with you on your trip and jot down info that you can use to create some blog posts.
